I am please to announce that after several months rewriting the Pi Entertainment System (PES) version 2.0 is now available to download:

Raspberry Pi 2/3 (Arm7) (md5sum: 50f9ff519d47537f6f75459a7ccb4c61, 830MB)
This new version has the following features:
- A new GUI with an improved layout and search filters to let you get back to your favourite games
- Multi processing for ROM scans (up to 4-5x faster than previously)
- Support for Achievements (aka Badges) thanks to http://www.retroachievements.org
- FAT32 is now used for the /data partition which means you can now copy ROMs etc. straight to the SD card
- Large control pad database thanks to SDL2
